Michele Parsons – Painting, Basketry and Sour Dough Bread

Landscapes from across the country, animals, details in nature, all inspire
Michele to create in acrylic paints on canvas. She is a member of Dumoine
River Artists for Wilderness (DRAW) which is a group of artists in all media
who support conservation of local wild lands, through Canadian Parks and
Wilderness Society (CPAWS), to create a large corridor of forest and wetland
from south of Canada’s border to Algonquin Park and beyond.

Sourdough bread will be baked by Michele, fresh for the tour this year,
including favourite flavours such as raisin cinnamon, cranberry orange, dark
rye, plain, and organic flour. The sourdough can also be purchased through
the Ottawa Valley Food Co-op along with some seasonal vegetables and other
baked goods. Firefly Meadows Farm will have a selection of fresh vegetables
onsite, available during the tour, harvested from the 1/2 acre garden beside
the vendor tables. Cut flower bouquets will be offered for sale to brighten
your home decorating.

You will also be able to view the colourful basketry willow which is growing
in the garden and which has been used for making baskets, ornaments, a
pallet for green burial, wreaths, and more.
